2004 Annual Dinner and Prizegiving

Our annual dinner was held at Salhouse Lodge last Saturday, 6th November where a goodly time was had by all assembled.

2004 Yare and Bure One Design Open

The annual Yare and Bure One Design Open event took place at Thurne Mouth on the weekend of 25th and 26th September 2004.
The Saturday was cold and overcast and only four white boats assembled at the point in a gentle breeze. In race one Patrick Richardson in  27 Vanessa got away well and staked his claim on the trophy by holding his lead to the finish from Hugh Tusting in 36 Brimstone.
Due to the cold and damp conditions, the second race was run back to back with the first and was made more interesting by the wherry yacht White Moth which joined in the first beat, in front of the fleet, up the Bure against the tide to dole’s Mill.

2004 Autumn Regatta

Saturday’s race started with a little breeze but dropped to virtually nothing, in fact many were going backwards from time to time. If it were not for the tide some may have had difficulty reaching the end of the shortened course.
Mischief had a good start and got away from the main fleet with Mora and Pixie in pursuit. The full results are:-

2004 Summer Regatta

This years event started with heavy rain. There is nothing quite
like the feeling of being a race officer in torrential rain and howling
winds when (sensibly) there is not a competitor in sight. The problems
were compounded by our lack of safety boat, which had broken down the
night before. Also, the tent (erected the previous night) had "walked"
across the club site and was very possibly saved from disappearing into
the River Thurne for good by coming to rest against our trusty flagpole!
