This was a black tie event! It followed the usual tried and tested format with a good sit down meal,

followed by, speeches,

toasts, trophy presentations, and raffle but was interspersed with hilarious silliness this year in the form of party poppers and

those balloons which inflate to about 4 feet in length and fly around the room when released accompanied by a continuous farting noise.!!!

Some found more creative things to do with the balloons.

What is the club coming to? It's not like it used to be in the old days!

Inspite of an earlier start this year it was still 10.30 before an end to the organised proceedings allowed John and Mario to commence their music. 

Mindful of the fact that they might have been slightly overexposed this year having appeared at several other sailing club socials (a measure of their popularity) they played a more original and different range of music to that which had been heard at their other appearances.

However it did not stop many from dancing which went on to midnight.
