EACC Spring Walk.
Last Sunday, lots of EACC people met up at Hardly Church. There were three dogs too ! The day was sunny with a few clouds in the sky. We started off walking along a sunken road, past a pig barn (it smelt) and towards the River Yare, beside Hardly Dyke. At the river we turned right and walked high above the reeds on the flood bank. One of the dogs ran off in a blur, chasing a hare. At Hardley Cross there is the River Chet junction, the water flowed very fast here. Last year on the EACC Southern Cruise it was difficult to turn up the Chet. At this point we turned right again and started to walk along beside the Chet. There was a long bit of water off the river, Roberts dog Alfie ran off here. We met other EACC sailors walking towards us, they'd walked the walk the other way around to us ! We passed some big machinery on the marshes and further up the path there was a very squelchy looking pile of mud. We started to walk on a path that went up hill, back towards the church. The walk was four miles long, and after we finished we drove to the New Inn at Rockland to have a yummy lunch.
