For the first time in many years the Summer Regatta truly lived up to its name with temperatures soaring into the high twenties celsius and a good breeze keeping it bearable throughout the weekend.

On the Saturday, twenty boats, mostly River Cruisers competed in the Thurne Roundabout for the Cooke Cup for cruisers and the Ebbage Cup for Allcomers. Honours were taken by Martin Thompson in Cordon Rouge 1 in RCC and Martin Cowley in YBOD Willow Herb in the Allcomers.

A relaxed social and BBQ followed.

On Sunday the good weather continued with the hottest day of the year so far forecast and still plenty of breeze. The Roy Pike Trophy and the Fillibuster Cup were contested in the River Cruisers and were won respectively by Hilary Franzen in Martlett and Colin Little in Moss Rose. Sadly only Willow Herb turned out hoping to compete for the Greyhound Cup and International 14 Trophy for allcomers so he had to be content to sail with the Cruisers leaving those Cups unpresented this year. Full results for both days are published below.
