Didn’t we have a fabulous weekend!

As we set off Friday lunchtime we wondered what sort of a weekend it would be when Paul Stevens put his jib on upside down! (It was in a sleeve! 😊 Ed.)

Friday evening – the Grand Opening of our new Clubhouse.

Saturday – sail to Jo & Cally’s at Wroxham.

Some of us stopped at Cockshoot Dyke for a leisurely lunch.

Thank you Jo & Cally for your hard work preparing the moorings for us after recent dredging work and for making Saturday evening one to remember.

Spring Cruise Shearwater 1Some moored at Jo & Cally's neighbouring property "Shearwater" looking out onto the broad.

Others moored in Jo and Cally's dyke or on their frontage. We were all accomodated magnificently by Jo and Cally with fire pits, barbeques, chairs, blankets and cocktails. What a great evening.

Also thank you for letting us cook kippers for Sunday morning breakfast in your kitchen.

Sunday – on to Coltishall with boats dressed overall moored on The Green, a nod to the VE Day 80th Anniversary celebrations.  Quite a sight and a talking point for those enjoying an icecream!

Some managed a walk (and an icecream) on Sunday afternoon.

Well done Carolyn & Jimmy for raising £100 for the Clubhouse Fund with their ‘guess the number of shackles in the jar’ competition.  Well done also John Aves for guessing the correct number of shackles – 63.

Sunday evening – a fantastic meal in the marquee at the Recruiting Sergeant, excellent service and delicious food.  Thank you Colin for entertaining us before dinner with a singalong of wartime songs.

Monday - rather cold and windy for our journey home, so not much sailing but some of us did find a sheltered spot for lunch on Salhouse Broad.

Thanks everyone for making it a great weekend and as Jane Stevens said ‘thanks for being part of our wonderful club’!
