LAST YEAR

AUTUMN CRUISE 2023

Friday 29th/Saturday 30th September to Sunday 1st October 2023

Cruise Leader: Colin Little

The date for the EACC Autumn Cruise is nearly with us and, as last year’s trip to Barton Broad was so successful, we’ve decided to repeat the performance  inthis year, spending the Saturday night on the Norfolk Punt Club pontoons.

As you know, this cruise is a one overnight event, which makes the choice of suitable venues within easy sailing distance a little tricky, particularly with the kind of weather we’ve been experiencing. However, NPC have very kindly again offered us use of all their facilities, including mooring, loos, BBQ and tea shack, together with trestle tables etc. so that we shall be able to cook and share a communal table as we did last year.

We shall be laying on some entertainment for Saturday mid-afternoon, giving ‘cruisers’ time to gather their wits, find the Ant and get to Barton, courtesy of our resident empresarios John and Susie, apparently points and prizes may be in the offing! **

For those who wish to make more of this event members might like to meet at the EACC club site on the Friday evening, share a club table at the Thurne Lion (Dogs welcome). Please make your own booking by Monday 25th September on 01692 671806 asking to be added to the EACC table, booked for 7pm. We'll then sail in company to Barton on Saturday morning. We will need to leave the moorings by 10.30 am as Lady Yacht Club will be using EACC's frontage.

So that we have an idea how many members propose joining the cruise please let Colin know by email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. not later than 25 September 2023. Please indicate whether you will be joining on Friday evening or on Saturday.

In order to thank and assist NPC to maintain its facilities and the supply of BBQ gas etc. members are advised that a nominal £5.00 per boat will be collected during the event.

Members are reminded that this event will, save for any spending Friday on the club moorings and eating at the pub, be ‘self-catering’ and are advised to also pack camping chairs.

** Preparations for Barton activity well advanced.

There will be things to do, some round the broad by boat, and a couple extra pontoon activities for when the gin bar opens on Swallowtail at about 4.30. This year we are hoping to raise cash for EACC charity (EA Air Ambulance) in return for a gin.

Prizes as last year.

Can you please get the word out to all the cruiseristas that they will need their Green Book with them? NO LONGER NECESSARY
