WINTER WALK 2026
Sunday 8th February 2026, at 10 am

Venue: Rockland St Mary
The 2026 walk will start and finish at village staithe opposite The New Inn PH Rockland St Mary (currently closed).
Car parking
There is an off-road carpark opposite The New Inn PH. So as not to take up all the space can we please park close as possible to the cars of others on our walk.
Meeting Time
it is planned to meet at 1000hrs and plan to set off walking at about 1030hrs.
There is no formal coffee and cake stop this year, but if you bring a flask, and some cake, there will be the opportunity to enjoy your coffee and cake at a church on route.
It is a circular walk of just over 3 miles, mainly off road, and away from the river, so it will be nowhere near as wet as the 2024 walk/wade, BUT there are wet and muddy sections so please make sure you have good suitable footwear.
Dogs (and well-behaved owners) are most welcome on the walk, and in the pub. We saw several deer, and plenty of rabbits on the ‘check walk’ we so those with dogs please be aware!
Lunch
Lunch is booked at Surlingham Ferry PH (about a 5 -minute drive up the road) for about 1300hrs
Although the Ferry have indicated that they will try and cater for us all simultaneously, I suggest as you get to the pub you follow the instructions of the pub staff, take a seat, fill a table, and get your order known, as soon as you are ready to eat, as I’m not sure we all need to eat together?
