AUTUMN CRUISE 2025

It seems like a very long time since EACC have taken a cruise beyond Potter bridge, so despite my original plan to head to Stokesby, and after careful consultation with the tide tables, I have decided to take the Autumn cruise up to Hickling and Horsey.
Friday 26th September: Gather at the club moorings in the usual way.
Saturday 27th September: Low tide at Potter bridge is 10:24, so Sun Glory II (6'1" air draft) will aim to get through the bridge at that time, mooring up the other side for a late breakfast / early lunch. Those with less air draft and more confidence may cross later at their discretion.
When the fleet has gathered north of the bridges we can sail up to Hickling, have a hack around Horsey and raft up for lunch before making our way to Hickling. Hopefully there will be room in the dyke or possibly via the NWT - we are investigating options. Worst case scenario is a raft up on the broad and shuttle into the dyke, but I'm sure the famous EACC ingenuity will see us through! The original plan was dinner in the Pleasure Boat but I got a call from Matthew at the Lion yesterday (30th Aug), and they have managed to double book a wedding on Saturday the 27th. This means that they have to re-locate one of them to the Pleasure Boat, so we are unable to eat there now. I have instead booked a table at the Greyhound, it’s about a 1 kilometre walk and they’d like us there at 6pm, but I can’t really think of any other alternative, so if you are planning on eating at the pub that night please let me know your menu choices by 20th September.
