Friday 28th April - Sunday 1st May

It seems from the feedback everyone really enjoyed the Spring Cruise.
It was a bit cold overnight Friday but we woke up Saturday to a lovely morning. One group, mostly ‘the old people’ spent the night at South Walsham.

We all met up during the afternoon at Wroxham, moored either at Jo & Cally’s or at their neighbour’s property who had kindly allowed us to use his moorings.

We had a very sociable evening bbq in Jo & Cally’s garden. A big thank you to Jo & Cally for hosting the party and thank you Jo for continuing to educate us with your cocktails!

Sunday was another lovely day and we made our way to Coltishall. I’m afraid we filled the moorings with all 12 boats moored comfortably on The Common.

During the afternoon we helped a lovely lady celebrate her 70th Birthday.

Sunday evening we gathered for a meal in the Marquee at The Recruiting Sergeant. Thirty-three of us were spread over three tables, Birthday girl and family, the old people and the young people, plus 10 very well behaved dogs! Friendly, efficient staff served us an excellent meal.
I'm afraid the weather forecast was accurate so we went our separate ways after breakfast Monday morning.

Two stayed at Salhouse for an extra night. I guess most of us got wet, we certainly did but the sails were dry and the sun was shining by the time we got back to base.
I would like to thank everyone for making it such an enjoyable weekend. It was great to welcome friends who visited for part of the weekend. Of course the EACC spirit was in evidence, particularly with help mooring, boat repairs, bike transport, lifts to the pub and young people making sure old people made it safely back to their boat.
Finally, apologies to any young person who feels they have been unfairly categorised as an old person.
